The drought is over

I'm writing again...well, just a little. You know what they say, a thirsty man shouldn't drink too much at first!

  1. Hoooooray! You have to be careful that you don't use up all your energies and inspiration in the blogs though! But joking aside - you are right to put your efforts into what counts most for you, so all the best, but do leave us a few breadcrumbs now and again!

  2. Thanks Janys! By the way I love your new profile pic...gorgeous! Funnily enough, my writing is also driven by blogging, because I've always posted chapters one by one on a special blog. The comments from readers keeps me going. Another fave saying (I'm full of training jargon) is 'feedback is the food of champions" ;-)

  3. Thanks Vally - another "way-back-when-and-I'm-not-telling" kind of pic, taken one of the first years I was here, but still very representative of the person I am/feel to be/want to be, sort of thing!

I would also agree that the feedback is very encouraging, and helps to make these "virtual" places seem a little more populated with real people!

...and I've always related that rule to taking care of my equine companions.

  10. It's not the drinking I have a problem with darling - just the time to check in here properly! I'm glad you're finding the time to write again - do it as and when you can, and send me some time-management alpha-waves at the same time please. Miss you.

  13. THANK YOU dear friends. I am still pretty busy with work, but it's not quite as stress filled as it was and now I do at least have a few hours to myself.

Some very good news came my way today about my writing. There is a publisher in the UK who is interested in both Watery Ways and the Skipper's Child. It is a small company and they ask teh authors to help with the marketing drive, but they carry the costs of publication and getting the work out there. I am absolutely thrilled! Now I have to get busy and send them copies of both books. So far, they've had the synopsis and teh first three chapters of each. Woohoo! It's not definite, but it IS a good start ;-)

  14. It's good to hear that things are slowing down for you, Val. It sounds like it has been a bit of a tough go for you.
Did you take on a bit too much all at once?

Good luck with the publisher! That is exciting news indeed.
    They are both excellent books.

    xx

  15. Dale, yes, in a word. I'm still a bit overloaded, but in a week or two things will be a lot better. I must learn to say no...no.....no....no.. see I can get the hang of it if I try...

Both books are now on their way, so I'm holding thumbs...xx
